An Austen Evening
Page
The Scottish gentleman is accompanied by a lady in a fringe-trimmed gown of pink. It is somewhat similar to an evening gown, c. 1810-1.The gown on the right is a wonderful recreation of the period fabric found used gowns in museums. (See, for example, this dress, this dress, and the dress on the far left).
